Overwhelmed by incivility from neighboring France, the Jura municipality of Porrentruy is limiting access to its swimming pool to Swiss citizens, people residing in Switzerland or those with a Swiss employment contract.
[…]The measure is primarily aimed at young people coming from the Territoire de Belfort and Doubs, the two French border departments. "In recent weeks, we have been confronted with numerous acts of incivility committed by young people coming from the other side of the border. We had deployed one Securitas, then two others, but it wasn't enough. Hence this municipal decree, which has not been issued since 2020, even though, every year, we are forced to issue entry bans against specific people."
The incivilities observed are as follows, details Lionel Maître: "Harassment targeting young women, inappropriate language, swimming in underwear, violent behavior following remarks."
